Our Annual Citrus Sale has begun. Proceeds from this Citrus Sale fund most of our Chapter’s yearly operating expenses. You can order from students or use this form: Citrus fruit sales form 2013.  Orders will be taken through November 20th. Fruit will arrive at MHS on December 10th.

We are also selling citrus with the strawberries.  We have Temple oranges (sweet, easy to peel), Valencia oranges (easy squeezing or hand eating) and red grapefruit for $21 a case, $11 for a 1/2 case and $6 for a 1/4 case.  Honey tangerines are available in a 1/2 case for $19 and 1/4 case for $10.  Mixed Citrus (valencia and grapefruit) and Citrus Trio (tangerines, grapefruit and oranges) are both available in 1/2 case for $19. They can be picked up around the back of the High School in the Greenhouse from 8 am to noon, Monday through Friday everyday starting Wednesday, November 30, 2011 until they run out.

Filling out the form (follow link above) reserves your Poinsettia for you. If you are a staff member of Middletown Primary, Myersville Elementary, Middletown Elementary, Wolfsville Elementary, Middletown Middle, or Middletown High School we will deliver them to your school.

Dutch Mill Bulbs supplies high quality spring-blooming bulbs that are guaranteed to grow. Choose from many types of flowering bulbs with various bloom times, colors, and heights. They will arrive in time to plant this fall so your spring garden will be full of colorful blooms.  Thanks for your support.

The number of SAE Career Pathway Grants to be awarded has been increased this year. For 2011, there will be 90 Career Pathways grants available in addition to the sponsored grants. Also, the dollar amount of these grants has been increased to $1,000. Application period opens Sept. 1 and closes Nov. 15. Applications may be submitted by members in grades 7-11 and are intended to give younger members a “leg-up” in getting their SAE off the ground or to improve an existing SAE. Grants are based primarily on financial need. Please encourage your members to take advantage of this great funding source by applying for a grant. Also, for your member’s best chance at receiving a grant, they should use the scoring rubric which will also be on the website. This is a very simple application so even new members should have no problem in completing it.
