Middletown High School Horticulture Dept. is selling beautiful holiday Poinsettias for $8.50 each or 3 for $21.00. They are available in red, white, and pink. Click here to order.

They can be picked up around the back of the High School in the Greenhouse from 8 am to noon, Monday through Friday everyday starting Wednesday, November 30, 2011 until they run out.

Filling out the form (follow link above) reserves your Poinsettia for you. If you are a staff member of Middletown Primary, Myersville Elementary, Middletown Elementary, Wolfsville Elementary, Middletown Middle, or Middletown High School we will deliver them to your school.

National FFA Week Activities Planned February 19-26, 2011

National FFA Week will be held from February 19-26, 2011. Theme: Infinite Potential

We are excited to announce our schedule :

*Throughout the week we will be holding a Pet Supply Drive to collect pet supplies for the Frederick County Animal Shelter.

Saturday Feb. 19- Laser Tag at ShadowLand in FSK Mall, 3:00pm, $7.75 per game.

Sunday Feb. 20- FFA members will be recognized during the 10:30 am service at Grossnickle Church of the Brethren (be there before 10:30), followed by lunch in the Parish Hall. FFA Ag displays are to be delivered to/set up at FSK Mall.

Monday Feb. 21- No School. Cake and pie judging at FSK Mall at 7:30, entries accepted from 6-6:30 pm .

Tuesday Feb. 22- Chapter T-shirt day at school; Make the Hand Banner before school in Mrs. Shriner’s room. Keep paint on hands all day and see Mrs. Shriner after school for ice cream. FSK Mall- Ice Cream Making Contest at 7:30 pm, register at 7:00.

Wednesday Feb. 23- National Officer visits; Community Breakfast in MHS Cafeteria from 8-8:45am, officers wear official dress; Blue & Gold Spirit Day. Field Trip to CTC. Moon Bounce at Bounce U in Clarksburg, MD from 6:00-8:00. Tech Fair at FSK Mall, 6-8pm.

Thursday Feb. 24- Official Dress Day at school; Get ribbon to show your FFA Degree.

Friday Feb. 25- Wear Camo Day and Muddiest Truck Day (trucks must arrive at school already muddy); Log Sawing Contest, FSK Mall at 7:30.

Saturday Feb. 26- Pedal Tractor Events; Dance- hosted by MHS FFA, 7:00-11:00 pm at the 4-H Camp Center. $10/person, must be an FFA member. All profits donated to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Pet Photos With Santa Fundraiser Benefits Frederick Co. Animal Shelter

Thank you for helping the MHS FFA raise funds to benefit the Frederick County Animal Shelter. We photographed dozens of dogs and cats, and even some farm friends including cows, calves, chickens and goats. Tom Whalen from WFRE stopped by to help on Day 21 of his 30 Deeds 30 Days tour, and we had cookies, hot cocoa, and a live performance of holiday music. Much thanks to Santa and Mrs. Claus for taking time during this busy holiday season to pose with our furry and feathered friends (and occasionally humans.) Holiday Candle Centerpieces & Wreaths For Sale

The MHS Horticulture classes are creating Holiday Candle Centerpieces containing Christmas greens and holiday decorations. 1-candle centerpieces are $18 plus tax and 2-candle centerpieces are $24 plus tax. These make great gifts and can last for a couple of months if watered regularly.

Need a wreath for your door? MHS Horticulture students have made artificial wreaths you can use each year AND mixed evergreen wreaths which will last the season. Prices range from $12 – $22 each.

We will deliver orders to MHS, Middletown MS, Middletown ES, Middletown PS, Myersville ES, Wolfsville ES and Central Office as soon as we complete them.
