Our Annual Citrus Sale has begun. Proceeds from this Citrus Sale fund most of our Chapter’s yearly operating expenses. You can order from students or use this form: Citrus fruit sales form 2013.  Orders will be taken through November 20th. Fruit will arrive at MHS on December 10th.

The strawberries will be ripe and delicious straight from Florida. A quart costs $4,  1/2 flat (4 quarts) costs $14 and a flat (8 quarts) is $25. Orders are due by February 24th and the pick up date will be the week of March 12th in the ag shop. We will contact you with the exact due date.

We are also selling citrus with the strawberries.  We have Temple oranges (sweet, easy to peel), Valencia oranges (easy squeezing or hand eating) and red grapefruit for $21 a case, $11 for a 1/2 case and $6 for a 1/4 case.  Honey tangerines are available in a 1/2 case for $19 and 1/4 case for $10.  Mixed Citrus (valencia and grapefruit) and Citrus Trio (tangerines, grapefruit and oranges) are both available in 1/2 case for $19. We photographed dozens of dogs and cats, and even some farm friends including cows, calves, chickens and goats. Tom Whalen  from WFRE stopped by to help on Day 21 of his 30 Deeds 30 Days tour, and we had cookies, hot cocoa, and a live performance of holiday music.  Much thanks to Santa and Mrs. Claus for taking time during this busy holiday season to pose with our furry and feathered friends (and occasionally humans.) Just in time for holiday gift-giving! Santa and Mrs. Claus are making a stop at MHS  (Mrs. Shriner’s room, rear entrance) to pose for pictures with your pet.  Festive pet bandannas and homemade dog biscuits are also available for purchase.  Photo proceeds will be donated to Frederick County Animal Control.
